Lights come on under hard accel?
Hey guys i just got a 2010 g37s sedan 6mt and i notice under hard accel the parking brake light will light up first and if i keep pushing it the VDC and traction lights will light up as well. Only turning the car off and on again will get these lights to go out . Any suggestions what would cause that and how to fix? Thanks!

ok that makes sense. i checked the fluid level last nite and it is near full but i will top it up and see if that helps thank you. Can anyone explain why the traction control and vdc would light up under hard accel? previous owner tried to say that it had to do with the tires that were on it :/ lol
In a nut shell, if VDC/TCS detects the rear wheel(s) are about to "break free" it will cut engine power and/or modulate the ABS pump to keep everything under- what it deems- control. Tires, road conditions, driver habits all are factors into how this system operates.

awesome thank you for the info!
my issues seems to be a bit different though. when revving over 6k the VDC and TSC light up solid and wont go out unless you shut the car off and restart.
I wonder what would cause them to shut themselves off? possibly a faulty control unit or bad wheel sensors?
Any more advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm with Bull on this one in that the tires could be suspect. More than likely the snow tires are causing too much wheel slip under hard/heavy acceleration- and at 6Krpm there's a lot of torque being put down on the rubber. The system sees this as a problem and pops off the idiot lights. Typically, these lights go off on their own after a few minutes of "normal" driving- or, as you noted- gets reset when the car is shut off.
As you mention you're putting on summer tires next week, I would wait and see what happens then. If you still have the idiot lights popping off then you can start the diagnostic chain.

Had new Hercules raptis rt-5's installed on Monday, issue is still present though. I've noticed the lights come on and go solid intermittently. Sometimes pushing the car onto the highway or even just slow revving intown under 70km per hr. In other words it doesn't always do it but sometimes does it when I'm not really pushing it either. Car is currently lowered on eibach springs and may need an alignment. Could that cause my issue? How would i start the diagnostic chain? No codes are present on my cheap code reader. Thanks for your input guys
