To make a G25 fast...

So I have a friend who owns a 2011 G25x. Wants it to go fast. I have no clue where to start with this engine. Any thoughts?

In all seriousness, the G25 engine is pretty gutless, and there isn't really a market for performance parts to make it fast. Your friend is better off selling the car to get something more powerful if he wants a fast car. Even the G37's can be a bit limited without adding forced induction into the mix. N/A you'll max a G37 out around 340ish WHP if you're lucky, and that's after adding full bolt ons, ported upper and lower intakes, exhaust cams, and tuning. I can't recall seeing anyone really turbo or boost a G25 with the exception of a concept car for the G25 that was floating around in 2010ish.

As stated above, only forced induction or an engine transplant will make a G25 faster/quicker. Simpler and usually cheaper method is to buy a car with a bigger engine from the factory. For example, a G37x.

Yeah, I figured this was the response I’d get. Funny enough I’m trying to sell her my car cause I want the coupe in my driveway to be mine!!

one thing I’d want to know, how much power will the 7at on the X models hold before it spews it’s guts? Just curious for my own knowledge

One MILLION horsepower.

Or, use the search feature. Try "Level 10" as a key phrase.

Ahaha yeah I was being lazy yesterday, busy day... I’m familiar with the level 10 setup, just not super into it. Honestly, if I were building my personal car to be a race car, I’d probably (yes, it’s been discussed a million times) try and manual swap. Keep awd. Before you say it, I have NO CLUE how I’d do it... it’s a 10 year goal for me at this point. Working in computer engineering may help, but my mechanical skills would also be a massive need. Already know custom driveshafts are needed, a way to mount transfer case... it’s all thoughts in my mind right now.

anyways, back to the topic at hand!

Not one person has posted a successful manual trans replacement in an AWD model. That's a VERY LARGE chunk you're going to chew, and expensive to boot. Just give up on the G and buy a car that is already AWD and manual trans. Pie in the sky, IMO.
