Empty Clutch Reservoir, Seeking Advice
Empty Clutch Reservoir, Seeking Advice
So last week I finally got the joy of my clutch pedal sticking to the floor. This isn't new to me since my 944 was leaking brake fluid somewhere and the brakes and clutch pulled from the same reservoir, so I stop to get brake fluid and fill it up to get around that day.
Fast forward to today I had to make a 200-ish mile trip to pick someone up from the airport. Of course my reservoir decided to be empty again. It got to the point where I could barely keep from stalling with the pedal pressed the whole way in, and of course that happened right when I get to the arrivals area at the airport which was pure chaos. I also forgot to bring the brake fluid along.
Anyway, so I've been reading probably every thread that's been posted here (even yesterday's) about this issue and it always points to the CSC, specifically with having an empty reservoir. I've read one or two where they were able to only replaced the MC which solved the problem, but I don't think I'm getting that lucky.
The advice I'm looking for right now is how much should I get replaced at once while the CSC is getting replaced? My car is just under 47k miles so I feel like the flywheel is probably fine. Should I get a heavy duty CSC or go with a delete like the Zspeed CMAK system? I've also had my eye on the RJM clutch but is their heavy duty MC worth spending extra over an OEM?
Sorry for retreading this subject once again. I have a small time frame where I will be out of town next week and could leave my car with my mechanic, so I'd hopefully like to order parts today or tomorrow and hope they show up in time to get it done.

At only 47k miles in a daily driver, replacing your clutch & flywheel feels like overkill. The only opportunity to be found here is that the transmission will already be lowered in order to replace the CSC.
The RJM pedal has a claim that it lessens the (possible) design flaw which theorizes that the OEM pedal pressure through the MC contributes to the CSC failure. I don't know right or wrong about that, but that's the claim.
My personal experience was a CSC failure at 18K miles, under factory warranty. Because of the warranty, I had Infiniti replace it with another OEM clutch slave cylinder. After that, I bought the RJM pedal. You would love the RJM pedal, irrespective of its consideration to this problem. It's a fantastic mod.
In that you're out of warranty, I'd recommend getting one of the CSC kits that move the components outside the housing. Forget about the clutch & flywheel, and don't bother replacing the clutch MC. But definitely get the RJM pedal.

Thanks for the input, I'm actually getting ready to call CZP to order stuff but might just get from Zspeed since they made the external CSC. I already ordered an MC since my brother works for a Nissan dealership network so I'll just get that done while I'm at it just in case.
Glad to hear more good reviews for the RJM pedal. I was initially waiting to order it with the bundle to save some money, but I hadn't looked and thought it was a CSC they bundled. Now that I know it's an MC I might just order the pedal at some point once my taxes come back.
So looks like I just need to order the CSC delete, MC since I already got it, and should I get a new rear main seal since the transmission is coming off?

Another option to consider is this: Jim Wolf Technology website
All of the the "CSC delete kits" leave an open hole in the side of the transmission.
For me, I worry about dirt/salt getting inside the bell housing. I am on my third CSC, and when it fails I am getting the JWT CSC
