Stillen Oil and Transmission Cooler & Autometer gauges
I've been out of touch for far too long here. Lots of lurking and searches but not a lot of contribution. I finally got my Stillen Oil and Transmission coolers installed along with a set of Autometer gauges and a custom pillar pod from Ortiz gauges. I'm pretty happy with the results. I'll have to get the car on the dyno and see how many runs it takes to get those oil temps back to 240+ with the Gold series oil cooler. I haven't been able to get the trans temps to climb past 200 degrees yet even in the 110 degree weather standing still.
I also thought some of you that might be wondering how to power up your gauges would like to know where to tap in. I used the ashtray light for the power and ground. This light also hooks up to the dimmer switch but unfortunately the dimmer for our cars doesn't dim these autometer guages. Autometer sells a dimmer switch that I'll incorporate at a later date.

So, you're going to create a DIY post or video and add it to the DIY forum?
Sorry there if I've mis-categorized the article. I'm happy to copy and paste most of what I wrote over on MotoIQ. I uploaded some of the photos for the article. I came up a little dry when looking for how to tap into the power for aftermarket gauges and I hadn't seen anything on Ortiz custom gauge pods here so I thought I would share.
You're good. Get some data on the trans fluid temps. I added the trans cooler and it did nothing in regards to TCU misbehaving during HPDE. I could get one good session before the trans began upshifting on its own and ignoring my first downshift commands while in manual mode. Had to baby the damned thing.
Was that one full 20 minute session or one lap at the HPDE event? I know Setrab makes all other sizes of coolers or adding any sort of cooling fan to a cooler of that size could be something to look into. Those autometer elite gauges I installed can flip a switched connection for exactly that purpose. So when that trans temp reaches 220+ it will flip on the fan.
