Low oil pressure (P0524)

Hey guys I had a question regarding a p0524 code I recently got on my sedan. This code is for low oil pressure, but I just wanted to know that when your cars oil pressure is very low doesn’t the little oil light illuminate on the dashboard as well? And every time I reset the Ecu the car starts running normally again (doesn’t go into limp mode after ecu reset). Can this cause damage to the cars engine if I keep driving after the ecu reset. Any advice helps thanks

Its going into limp mode for a reason... resetting it to bypass limp mode and then still continuing to drive it is not a good idea. Get it fixed before permanent damage happens.

short answer is yes you will eventually damage your engine. if your oil level is good and you have low oil pressure it means the issue that results will be lack of lubrication on engine components such as camshaft or not enough oil being sprayed by oil jets for the bottom end

Hopefully you don't have the galley gasket issue.

I have bench tested the G37's oil pressure switch and the low pressure oil light will turn on only when it is less than 5 psi
The factory shop manual show the minimum oil pressure at idle is 14 psi.

With this code, the ECU is assuming the oil pressure is low because ti can't move the cam timing to the required position.
(there is a gap between the desired and actual position)

Either check your oil pressure or get a shop to check it ASAP. It needs to be > 14 psi at 80C / 176F.
If that is good, then the variable valve timing solenoids/system need to be checked.
