Please help. Weird no start issue.

09 vert doesnt start. Brand new battery installed.
All elec work. Acc on, dash lights on, on light on. But as soon as i try to start the car, it goes to off. As if it doesnt recognize the start command. Brake switch? Although, brake lights work, im able to put car into neutral. So it seems to recognize brake press. Maybe there are a few switches back there? Any ideas? And fuses to look at?

Any help is appreciated.

describe better "no start'?

Does it just click?

Does it crank, but no fire?

Does it fire, but die?

it doesnt do anything, no click, nothing.

if i sit in the car, and not apply the brake, i can cycle the push button to ACC, ON, and it goes to off.
even when i hold the brake, it still cycles to ACC, to ON and back to off.

as if it doesnt recognize that i'm pushing on the brake. BUT.. i do have brake lights working, and i'm able to shift the gear while applying the brake. so there is some recognition of me applying the brake, but not when i want to start the car.

Did you stick the key fob in the slot?

Try disconnecting the batter for 1/2 hour. Then retry.

Did you test the battery?
Just because it is new doesn't mean it may have a defective cell

No, but considering that all electronics work, should be good.

Bought a new brake switch, still same...

Some more info that may help.

When i turn on ignition, the blowers kick on. Im also missing the check engine light. It doesnt light up at all during the ignition process :/
I also get a link error while trying to connect my generic Obd2 scanner.
So i cant even pull any codes.

I think i checked most fuses. Where is the fuse to the ECU ?

A/T or M/T? If A/T, i would say brake switch. If M/T, clutch disengagement switch. (Don't remember the proper name lol)

Rough... I'd say you may want to trace the wiring down for that switch, because if you press the button with your foot on the brake it shouldn't be cycling to off. Perhaps theres an open/short circuit somewhere, making the car think theres no brake engagement. Do the tail lights light up with brakes applied?

yes, brake lights light up, and im able to switch out of Park. but again, no check engine light during the initial dash lightup.. i think all lights are supposed to light up, but no check engine light and the radiator fans kick on.. so this tells me its a communication error w/ the ECU or something.. so i'm looking for fuses to check.
