Transmission Problem?

I have a 2009 G37S coupe rwd with 90K+ miles on it. Automatic transmission. Was pushing the car pretty hard about two days ago. Then I noticed everytime I come to a stop the car would rock forward and back then stop. It kept happening, so I pulled over check the hood and saw nothing.

As it kept doing that I pulled over again and cut the car off for a bit. It never stopped. I parked it for about 40 mins, then began to drive again and it got worse. I would step on the gas and the car wouldnt move. I put it in park the back in drive and it wouldnt move. It would only move in reverse. The only time it moved for a short period was when I cut the car off and put it back on.

Any ideas why this is happening? Maybe a bad solenoid?

Any noises? Reminds me of an episode of roadkill where a car was squealing hard and wouldn't move, all because of no transmission oil.

Additionally, does it move/rock/pull forward when you put in in gear?

Yeah mad a loud squealing everytime I pressed on the gas along with forward rocks. And yeah the car would rock forward and back when putting it into gears. You think I just need transmission fluid?

Do you still roll forward normally while in drive, off the brakes.

The car doesnt move while in drive unless I press on the pedal and it still had a 10-15 sec delay before it moves. And it doesnt even go anywhere

not saying it’s just atf, but I feel like that could be the cause. Sadly running it dry like that can cause some serious damage, so don’t drive it until it gets a good drink

Check the fluid that can cause it too happen, or torque converter is bad, or the whole transmission. The reason you’re about to move a bit forward is due to the fluid being cold once it gets warm it will not bulge. But start off with the transmission fluid by adding some.
