Hi guys. I am the owner of 2009 G37xS and I am experiencing very strange sound during cold start. It happens not all the time and usually when it's cold. I am attaching video for your reference. Maybe someone experienced it before? It's kinda hard to reproduce since the car needs to be cold...I'll appreciate your help

 

Yo migo! I had a 09 g37xs sedan and during cold starts it would make a weird rattle type noise for about 10seconds and then stop once it idle down. Kinda thought it was a problem but only had the car for many a month all together, dealership had to buy it back for other reasons but I'm now in a 2013 g37x and it does the same thing. Its got me thinking that its just a G thang. If you find out otherwise let me know

 

I hear VVEL racket and maybe a quiet hum. Your car sounds no different than mine.

Our cars sound rather crappy on startup. Mine has had the same sound since I got it. Your battery sounds a little sad though.

 

 

Sometimes when it's -30 out the car sounds like a diesel for the first little bit of running. Not a very luxury car sound.

 

 

I've got a bunch of heat shield issues that I DIY fixed, still need to get back under the car and have another look. VVEL always makes noise n my car, and it almost seems accentuated by the small hole in my exhaust
