G37 - Triptonic issue
Hi,
Recently purchased a G37 Type SP with the paddles for gear change - purchased second hand for dirt cheap so expected a few issues...
Circumstances
On start up can change from 'D' into 'D' and will display gear '1' on dash. When you go to drive or change gear it will automatically revert to drive and won't go back into 'DS' on screen (physically will go into spot). So it appears the paddles are not working for some reason...anyone had this issue or know the cause?
Regards,
Frodo

Hi,
I've done that - put it into DS and pull the paddle and displays gear '1'. Start driving and engine revs up - when it gets to about 4k it automatically shifts and then reverts to 'D'. Pulling the paddles in that interim part does nothing.
I've been reading that it might be a fuse or switch that controls the paddles? any idea if that is correct and where it is located.

Frodo

There is a sensor in your gear shift assembly that is failing (or failed). I had this happen (and others have too), I replaced the entire shift assembly and fixed it.
