Radiator Fans and Other Components

I just got a CSF triple pass radiator. Since I am upgrading my radiator should I also upgrade the fans? I was looking at Mishimoto and Flex-A-Lite fans. What is the best setup for radiator fans? Does this make a big difference? How about water pump and thermostat? Thanks.

If you're not overheating now, then your fans are fine. I don't hear of thermostat or pump problems.

Look for a higher pressure cap, though.

Thanks Slartibarfast. The CSF radiator comes with a cap and I think it's high pressure. Sounds like all I'll need now then are the hoses and the radiator then.

Before you install the CSF you may want to check with Defpoint or some similar name on 370z board. There have been issues with the CSF radiators (mine included). My threads had to be retapped on it.

Got it. Yea I've been a bit worried reading the QA threads. Were the issues with yours immediately apparent or did you start having issues after a while?

After a while. Noticed that coolant had blown past a gasket at one point. Saw dried coolant around the hole. Hadn't lost total system cooling, but was still annoying.

As an answer to your previous question, I don't use aftermarket fans and have never had an overheating issue. I don't know if you are tuned or not, but with my tune my fans are programmed to come on earlier.

The fans don't operate until a certain temperature is reached. Most street driving won't trigger the fans to run. Track will, stop-and-go will.

But would you say that the fans need to be upgraded or do they seem fine?

I personally wouldn't worry about them.

There are people running twin turbo kits on stock fans and stock radiator. I wish I had known this before I went CSF and saved myself money and headache.
