preparing for the worst with my transmission and ive started looking around for used ones question is would a 2014-2015 q50 transmission fit since its the same drivetrain or is there differences in certain years

its the same engine and transmission though

 

I am not sure if it has been confirmed if the bell-housing and mounting points are the same. Also though it is the same transmission type it has different gearing (at least that's what my research has told me). Lastly it has been said (though I could just be spreading a lie here) that the valve body and TCM are "married" much like the ECU and BCM and you would need to get them all reflashed as well.

 

Better question would be if our 6MT fits in the Q50

Kinda sorta not joking, if it was practical I'd consider doing it to one of the new 3.0t (well, prob not, but it would be nice to know)
