Agreed the let the clutchout smooth and lack of power coming off a traffix light is insane. Reminds me of my old wrx in 90 degree temps. Im not getting any code either and cleaned throttle bodies swapped intake setup. Had the camshaft position sensor fail on my frontier truck wouldnt even start until i cleared code from ecu.

I've had this happen a lot when I had the K&N short ram intake and read it had to do with heat soak, What intake setup did you swap to? I haven't had this hesitation since I switched to long tube intakes but I also have a tune so that might have also helped.

This is SPOT on. I used to have an '05 Saabaru and the issue with that on hot days was the cruise control cable would become tensioned because the housing would heat up and contract a bit. A more frustrating, less consistent, and less predictable version of the same feeling is exactly what this problem feels like in the G.

In the 9-2x, the solution was to remove the cruise control module, which solved the problem. I wish finding a solution was as easy in these cars! It's literally a night and day difference. Sometimes the G is one of the most responsive, satisfying cars I've driven, but at others, it's the exact opposite. Crazy that the same car can feel SO broadly different.

Did you find a solution to this?

If you fully disable VDC will it help with the hesitation?

Thought I was the only one experiencing this issue... seems like it happens after heavy acceleration or on a hot day.

Problem Solved

I was having the exact same issue, what fixed it was new MAF sensors, the throttle relearn then a software update. I have a 2008 6MT with 99k miles.

What type of software update? Anything specific? I was here hoping to find a solution a while back. Since then I've got a few bolt ons and tuned. It doesnt quite happen the same as it did. But i can still see something similar from time to time with how the throttle response performs. I'm curious to try this just to see.

I'm glad that I'm not crazy for thinking this isn't normal behavior for this car. Now that others have mentioned it, I feel like mine also lags on warmer days with a warmer engine. Mine's a 2013 6MT with 81k miles. I actually just got the camshaft sensor changed because it threw a code. Difference for me is that it would shake at around 40mph and the CEL was on. They replaced the sensor and for a few days I actually thought the problem was gone. Unfortunately, this morning, the CEL light was flashing for about 20 seconds before turning off. It came on again briefly after I got over 60 MPH. Weird thing is that I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with the car so I'm not sure why the light flashed for a little bit. I ended up turning the car off and restarting. I drove 45 miles or so to work, pushing the car to near triple digits and the light didn't come on again.

Well it seems like a tune will not solve. I'm on my second base map and all data looks good. However there's some hesitation like sensation below 3k. My tuner and I are trying to diagnose. Really really strange phenomenon. Feels like a misfire type feeling but not misfiring and knock counts are zero.
