G37S Coupe Clutch Died Today!

Team,
Looking for advice here please!

G37S Coupe 104K miles...
My clutch went out today going to work. Had the car delivered to the local Infiniti dealer. They quoted me $2700.00 WITHOUT replacing the flywheel.

Flywheel alone is over $1K... Is it prudent to change the flywheel?

Thoughts?

Jeff

Stealership will always charge an arm and a leg. Take it to a well-known independent shop, I'm sure there are Nissan/Infiniti specialists in your area. Your quote will go down by a couple hundred.

You can also find aftermarket flywheels for much less than $1k.

I would take it to an independent shop as already mentioned. Also I have an OEM flywheel clutch and pressure plates with only 7k miles on it for sale. DM me if you are interested.

I'm in Canada (point being everything is more expensive here, especially due to the weak dollar) and I got my mechanic to install an Exedy OE clutch replacement kit with new single-mass flywheel for I think $1800 or so, labour included. Sounds like a cement truck when the clutch pedal isn't depressed but works like a charm (so far!!!)

Clutch is noticeably stiffer than OEM but it's a much cheaper alternative.

You mentioned you're at 100K miles which leads me to believe that $2700 figure is in USD, which is around $3500 CDN....so that's a huge difference.
