During my research, I think the only thing I found you need to worry about is the transmission mating up to the block... it's different for auto vs manual.
I appreciate your input. Yes the transmission is one of differences and also AW versus RW drive versions, where the oil pan connections are different I believe. Other than that, I want to make sure all the other components such as alternator, all the sensors, modules are compatible. I am worried about those because 2008 was the very first model and I am thinking Infiniti made some upgrades or changes how the module reads inputs from all the sensors after all those TBS came up with the early models. But then, maybe they didn't.

Do you know what did they had to replace or change in order to fit it into a 5AT setup?

This. If possible, find the newest model possible, the newer engines were updated to keep from leaking oil around the timing gasket. Otherwise, they are completely identical. They'll just need to swap your current harness on the new motor since its a 5AT and not a 7AT. This can be done in one day, no problem.
Thank you for your input. Please let me know if you already know what needs to be changed or ordered to fit the 7AT in to my 5AT?

I am planning to get my engine from a 2014 Q50 Sedan. They parted out the whole car. They also Sell the Engine Control Module from the same car.

Do you think it is wise to swap the the modules so the new engine will be 100% compatible with the module? I am trying to avoid all those engine lights may come up because my original module will see things differently then the newer upgraded modules.

mine is 6MT, so they didn't have to change anything. They found an engine that was from a 6MT car.

Hey everybody I got a 2008 G37S 6mt coupe, recently I got my car tuned from uprev at 320,000kms. Lasted for 2 weeks until i pushed it over 8000 rpms and had a bad sounding knock after that(I didnt know it could rev that high, my fault)

anyways I decided to swap the engine, called a place that parted out cars and they said they had a 2010 available with 158,000kms and came out of a 2010 6mt coupe.

I agreed and took it to a local mechanic to do the swap( just engine swap, I used my same ecu), everything fit, good compression, but they are having the following issue:

car starts but revs abnormally(rpms stutter aggressively and it also fluctuates between 1k to 3k rpms), clutch feels different, getting a code for the crankshaft sensor circuit A.(I went to infiniti and bought another crankshaft oem sensor and still getting the same code).

car is stuck at the shop, put in new MAF sensors and he used a regular scanner to do the relearns he did not do them manually. Also the check engine light comes on after having the car running for over 30 mins or so.

car has z1 cold air intakes, throttle body spacer, muffler delete and high flow cat with secondary delete.

please let me know if I am posting this in the right section.

the shop that sold me the engine says it fits and it's an issue with the mechanic not doing the swap right, the mechanic blames the part shop for sending me the wrong engine

lol.

All year engines are the same. The mechanic is wrong. Sounds like he missed one of the sensor plugs or connected one of them incorrectly.

Do you guys know if a g37x motor will fit into my 08 auto g37 rwd? If not a direct swap, what changes need made? I found a g37x motor with 32k original miles for 1600 bucks but if I put in my vehicle info the website wants 2600 for the motor.
Just looking for a low mileage option while I rebuild the original motor for FI.
car has almost 200k as it sits.
