Didn't I read someplace that this method of start was not good for modern cars? Something about needing various circuits powered before starting. This method may work with a good battery, but won't if the battery is dead as these circuits will not get the power needed. I don't recall the exact details, but more research is needed. Wouldn't want to fry anything.
