I think my car is haunted

Omg it went nuts today at work. Tried to start it and all kinds of warning lights coming on. The headlights coming on and off without the switch being on. Turned it off and tried it again this time it started. Headed out to the house about 5 miles away and halfway there it starts acting goofy. Trans not shifting right. In fact the d on the dash keeps disappearing and coming back. Engine low on power. Blinkers working, not working.

Checked at the house and the battery has 12.3 volts and 14 when running. All kinds of codes on the processor. Non communication issues.

Any ideas? I am going to look for the ecu maybe a loose connection?

Definitely sounds like it could be a voltage issue, are the clamps on the battery posts tight?

Was it raining today? Drive through any puddles? Sounds like a grounding issue

I checked the battery and everything looks good and tight. Yes we have been having a rainstorm down here for a few days. I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side and it is damp. So I pulled the panels and the glove compartment off. There is definitely some water on the wiring and the little black box. Later today I will disconnect the battery and pull the wiring loose and dry everything out.

Hopefully nothing got damaged. Now where did the water come from?

It took a while but I found the leak. There is a boot where the wiring come down out of the engine compartment. It appears that since it was parked on a incline and there was leaves built up in the fender area water was able to pour in past the boot and on to the ecu. I am cleaning it up and I will silicone the crap out of it so it wont happen again.

Just in case someone else has this same problem here is a picture of the culprit.Name: 20161207_171450_zpsrobu8p9y.jpg
