Spray some dilithium grease or terminal protectant on connections

 

2022 Update... now at 117,000 miles and it still starts perfectly every time.

I started having this problem but once in a while it would start after trying for a few minutes. Today it died, wouldn't start no matter what. I found your post, I have a 2011 G37xS sedan, and I was able to remove the bolt without taking the starter out, sand it down, and it started right back up. Thank you so much man.

For anyone else reading: There's more in the way for the AWD but it's still accessible. I only had to take the wheel off. For convenience sake I removed one of the splash guards but you can reach out without removing it. Basically take the wheel off, hug the rotor, put both arms on either side of the control arm/rotor to reach inside. Use a 13mm if your bolt is rusty like mine, but I believe it's a 12mm bolt. Use a smaller wrench, one of those that you can set to go in either direction only, can't recall name. Hold wrench with one hand onto the bolt, crank with the other. You'll have to go in blind, can't see the bolt when you're doing this, but you can remove the bolt without removing anything else. I had 220 grit on hand. Repeat the steps in reverse and bob's your uncle.
