Rohester, you do realize 93 is just fine in the g and won't cause any issues. The problem will occur if you drop BELOW premium ie below 91. Ethanol blends won't hurt anything either as the e85 runs cooler.

Of course. It's being forced to pay premium pricing when the car only calls for 91, that's what bugs me.

As for the Ethanol... The head knows its OK, but the heart still says don't do it.

Put in 4 parts 93 to 3 parts 87. That should yield 91

Premium, that's 93 in Maryland. BP is prefered or Royal Farms. Shell doesn't provide as much power when you push it. I drive hard so I notice these things.

You notice a difference in performance between different brands of 93?

OK

93 ONLY!! Shell is preferred, but I also like BP. If I'm on the interstate and need gas, then I'll use Sunoco, as they're at most of the rest stops that I pass.

All you people pumping 93 all the way, are you doing this because 91 isn't available in your area?

Surprisingly, once I left the city, I only see 93. I've only been to one gas station since moving, where they had both 91 and 93.

In the DC/MD/VA area there is only 87, 89, and 93. The only station I know of that carries 91 here is Sunoco, but they also offer 93 in addition so I just end up using that.

I've noticed that, too. Once you go rural, even a little bit, the stations no longer carry 91. I'm in Western NY, and inside the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse area, you can find 91. But as soon as you leave the city & suburbs for the sticks, there's no 91 to be found. What's up with that? Do most pickup trucks and 20 year old Chevys use 87 or something?

Wait. I think I just answered my own question.

Most stations here have 90, but Sams has always had 91 and recently bumped it to 92. So that's what I run, but almost everything around here is crap-a-nol
