2013 G37 Sedan 2nd Timing Seal Leak

Hello all so this is just a thread for information on this issue that I just got notified on my ex girlfriends car so basically 2013 g37 sedan with only 35k original miles and we had shifter issues to begin with putting the car out of gear and what not so we took it in for diagnosing and they found the shifter assembly needing to be replaced and also found a 2nd timing seal leak of oil and had that resealed under warranty which we are happy about since its expensive to fix. The reason for this post is because I have had two g37 one coupe and now my sedan and I thought these cars were pretty bulletproof since this year when I started having all these issues which I found weird. Let me give you a little background my 08 g37 coupe 6 speed had a shifter assembly replaced due to it being broke as well out of my pocket and now the 13 sedan automatic shifter assembly. My 2011 sedan has been a headache this past month with overheating and recently got an engine replaced and hoping the issue does not come back I have a whole thread on my issues on that one but just wanted to share my fair share of headaches lol.

Anyways I thought the 13's didn't have timing leak issues especially at low mileage like this so if anyone encounters this issue here's the back up information that it is possible defect or something in some cars.
Some advice as well to others invest in infiniti elite warranty in case these issues occur like me on my sedan I got a new engine under warranty probably powertrain warranty but still other things such as the entire cooling system was replaced under elite warranty and I chose the zero deductible and my car has been at the dealer a total of 6 times already imagine if I had the 100 deductible!

My 2012 had an external rear timing cover leak if that's what you're talking about. They had to pull the rear timing cover and apply new rtv. I have seen quite a few VQ37VHR and VQ35HR have external leaks that needed to be fixed by applying new rtv.

The rear timing cover gaskets were updated on 2012+ models but external leaks can still happen.
