Bad clutch?

So starting about a month ago I noticed that occasionally I would grind gears when going into 5th when the clutch is all the way down. This doesn't happen for any other gears and only happens every now and then. Other than that the clutch seems ok (i.e. Bite point seems to be in a good position and catches quick) but is this a sign of a wearing clutch? Has anyone else had this problem?

Gariepy,

If the grinding is only happening in one gear and everything else is fine, it's likely a bad synchro, not a clutch problem. If so the problem will continue to get worse and will eventually require rebuild or replacement of the transmission. Synchros are weak on this transmission. There is some information on this forum and more on the 370Z forum.

Agree with GSM026. It is not your clutch, though a better clutch really helps these cars I have a bad synchro on 6th. It is only a problem when I try to go from 4-6. A normal 5-6 shift is fine.
