this thread is a couple of months old. Has anyone does this yet? What are your results? If you get the ethanol fuel sensor and a tune can you then switch between 93 and e85 each time you get gas as you wish?

 

you have to be tuned for it to work that way. your tuner needs to tune your map for regular gas all the way to e85. so e10, being reg gas, to e85 and everything in between. this way the map can adjust according to the ethanol content in the fuel your using,without having to change maps. one map to run it all.

The method in switching over is the same for both applications though. For e85, I'm upgrading my injectors (already upgraded fuel pump) and installing the CJM S1 fuel return kit. My ethanol content gauge has the flex fuel sensor in it, which will need to be wired.

 

Right. If i do it, I was going to get GTR injectors and a ethanol content gauge, but I think I heard I wont need an upgraded pump or fuel return kit.

I have done most all the air/exhaust bolts-ons (except headers) and haven't had a tune yet. If I can spend $200 on injectors and $50 on an ethanol sensor and get some meaningful power with e85, it will be worth it. Not sure what I want to do yet.

 

I would assume that you would need to upgrade the fuel pump. It's not too bad though, since you can just get a 255.

 

This is interesting. seems to be about the same $$$/HP ratio as most other bolt ons. Grab some JUN cams, some timing and tune it all with E85 and I bet you'd see some much bigger gains...

 

na, no pump is needed. just injectors. I have spoken with Seb from specialty z about this extensively, no pump is needed for an na e85 set up. the stock pump can handle the extra fuel demands of e85.

 

I plan to purchase the Stillen supercharger and the air to air kit. I'll be buying Injector Dynamic 725cc injectors and a 340lph fuel pump. (On top of the other necessities like oil cooler, auto transport cooler, and CSF radiator.) I'm also swapping from UpRev to EcuTek... What else would I need to go to e85?

 

I suggest getting a fuel return kit (Charles from CJM is upgrading his S1 kits to have filters included) and getting ID1000-ID1300. 725cc is going to be too small for e85. I'd suggest getting an ethanol content gauge if you are going flex fuel.

 

Gl on getting much more out of the stiller kit. Super limited as to how much power you can put down.
