Question clutch slipping on 3rd? G37s 6mt

So i noticed this a few times recently. Heard from a few friends to flush the hydraulic clutch fluid and i did. Few days later same, losing pressure on the clutch. Another friend told me i have to beat on my clutch in 2-3 cycles then keep flushing it. The 2nd or 3rd time wil get all the crap out. So i did but today as i was beating on it i tried to do a burnout on 3rd going like 40 and it just slipped hard and felt the clutch lose pressure as i held the gas. Then a block later smelled the clutch. Heard the slave cylinders tend to go bad when u dont flush it periodically so im hoping maybe i just need to flush it again. Bought the car few ms ago and hyd fluid was black! When i floor it from a stop going through gears its always the 3rd that slips (not all the time) but ONLY when i hit it real hard. coasting the clutch feels perfect its only when i beat on it. Maybe the pedal losing pressure is causing the slip? Sounds about right but WHY is it losing pressure and only in 3rd at hard driving?
thoughts?

Sounds like a new clutch, slave, and master cylinder are in your immediate future.

In addition, stop taking advice from clueless friends.

Beating on the car will clear up the clutch!@# Sure, you won't have much clutch if any left when done.

A slipping clutch is remedied by replacing the friction disk (and associated parts), not changing the clutch fluid.

What do you mean by loosing pressure exactly? The pedal takes no effort to depress to the floor or you give it throttle but the car doesn't go? The former is caused by a fail[ed] CSC, the latter by a worn clutch disk.

Do not repeatedly pump the clutch pedal when bleeding; depress just once and wait for hydraulic system to stabilize before pumping again. (Risk of over pressure inside CSC)

from: http://www.brake-eng.com/Global/Down...structions.pdf

While flushing it the wong way, you may have over pressurized the CSC and it has leaked onto your firction disk.

Does your clutch also slip in 4th or 5th?
If so, the pressure plate and friction disk need to be replaced. Don't let it slip for too long as you might damage the dual mass flywheel ($1,000+) and they are not designed to be machined.

"Maybe the pedal losing pressure is causing the slip?"
Ummm, nope. The CSC uses pressure to disengage the clutch. No CSC pressure = clutch fully engaged.

How can you over pressurize the csc? The MC is matched to the CSC to allow for a certain movement with full pedal depression. Unless the CSC is bottoming out I don't see how it can be over pressurized.

ok so no its only in 3rd gear guys THIRD. I did a lot google search last night i read in many forums on standard cars (mainly nissan/infinity) that flushing the fluid is very important. and recommends motul 600. This would be my 3rd time flushing it this time i will be using the motul 660. what i mean when the clutch pedal loses pressure is when im driving it hard i can feel the pedal losing pressure after i let it go on 3rd and slips it stays slipping not only a little. example of what i mean is like letting the clutch pedal go half way and giving it gas the rpms will go up "like its slipping". When im driving it under normal cond it is perfectly fine only when i decide to beat the **** out of it. So far from what i read its the fluid because it gets hot pretty fast. I just checked the MC bottle and already is a brownish and darker on the bottom and i flushed it last week. When we bled it we did not pump the pedal at all because we used a vacuum bleeder and had the line on the bleeder underneath the car so there was no need to pump (according to the mechanic)

So in other words, rpms go up but car doesn't accelerate. You need a new clutch. Has nothing to do with clutch fluid or csc (although csc & mc replacement is part of a proper clutch job).

Hope you have an extra $2K laying around.

So on the subject of clutches......I baby my car in which I never dump the clutch, drive hard, and/or do burn outs. So considering my car has 105k on it and driving it as I do, what could the life expectancy be on the clutch considering? Also, I do smell the clutch very faintly while constantly engaging and disengaging during traffic sometimes.

my G has 83k on it so yea it slips when i dump the clutch but NOT all the time. IF I happen to been a new clutch whats ppl recommending out there? As far as a little better than OEM? I like been sliding (drifting) it more than I should and a habit that i really need to stop doing but boy are they fun

It doesn't really matter which clutch you get. You'll need another one before you know it. That's on how you drive the car, not the clutch itself.

Pumping the clutch pedal multiple times in a sequence can over pressurize the system and over-extend the CSC.

So today I was testing it again (beating on her) even second is slipping a little. Talked to a friend that builds cars he said I most likely need a new clutch and fly..... looks like I'll be doing this before I do the 2011 front end swap
