4.08 gears & boost.
Are there any boosted folks (TT ,SC, N2O) with 4.08 gears? How is it under load? What tire setup did u go with to help with traction? How long before the swap back to stock gears or even 3.3 gears take?
with those gears, first, second, and part of third gear will be worthless at full throttle. you'd have to spend most of those gears babying it which defeats the purpose of getting those gears. boosted folks, especially turbo'd ones, usually opt for 3.3 or 3.5s. i had 3.3s and an LSD on my TT'd G35, and could only get good traction in first gear under full throttle at the drag strip. on the street, there was no point in even trying to put the pedal to the floor until second gear. my 2 cents.
with a supercharger they would be great since you don't really have full boast till redline..
Turbo I think they would be to much for the boast unless you pedal the throttle
I have a tough time not spinning the first 2 gears all the time

There always has been the common understanding that shorter gears are not the best for it but little to anyone have given first hand experience. I have in 4.08 gears and also preparing to go boosted. My diff won't get rebuilt until after I turbo my car (tomei 1.5 way diff ftw. Yes Quaife is great too ). Just wanted to see if there were any one in the g world that did it (besides sharp by coop )

...and that should tell you something. The extra power from FI is useless if you can't get traction because of less than optimal gearing. Head over to my350z.com and search through the threads in the forced induction subforum. Plenty of people have been down the road you want to travel - they almost always end up opting for longer gears.
