Engine revs on upshift MT

Hey Guys,

New g37 just bought a little over 1 week ago. I'm loving it!

On WOT, and upshift, sometime I still get the engine's RPM still slightly going up when on clutch. Is this normal, or driver error? BTW, it doesn't do this on normal speed. I could just not be letting off the throttle all the way before engaging clutch.

Just curious, thanks in advance

That's good to know! This doesn't apply for downshifting does it?

First of all, its called SynchroRev Match.

Second of all, it is NOT available on the G. Its only available on the 370Z with the Sport package.

Third of all, its main use is for downshifting. It matches the revs to what they would be on a lower gear. On upshifting, the revs fall down. The computer cant force the revs to fall down any faster.

And finally, to the OP. You are not letting of the gas 100% before you push the clutch in, thats why your revs are flying up.

Completely agree, I have no clue what everyone else is talking about. Why would the computer rev UP to match revs? That would make for even worse shifts. If I had to guess, I'd also say OP isn't letting off fully, it's easy to do because it's a long pedal travel when you're at WOT as compared to regular driving.

Does it only happen when cold? The car will up the revs a little sometimes (think of a choke on a lawnmower)

I drove a 370z that did this all the time and it was actually annoying. If I had one I would want to turn it off 99% of the time.

The G37s dont have the same feature.

The G doesn't have the SynchroRev Match and that I'm 100% sure. Because I'm EcuTek tuned and flat foot shifting is not compatible with our cars due to the lack of the SynchroRev Match feature. Mine is a 2012 6MT Sedan G37S.

What you're experiencing is normal. The manual tranny of the G isn't that easy to master and you just need to get used to it. Just completely left your foot off the gas pedal before pressing the clutch. Then quickly start pressing the clutch pedal.

A little timing and you're good to go.

It's become more noticeable that i've almost completely swapped all bolt ons....

it only happens after a cold start and if i have traction control off.

i agree w/ chili and 37. driver error; just make sure your foot is off the clutch when shifting.

Circling back around guys. A couple more weeks of driving, its user error. It has since been corrected.
