4.08 Gears....M/T housing...or no M/T Housing?

Okay well I would have PM'd this poster but he hasn't been on since 2013 lol
It seems as if he didn't need to replace the housing to change the gears? I have seen a number of posts saying you have to have the M/T housing...but according to this all he bought was the gears and a LSD...if anyone has experience with the 7 A/T and the gear swap and can help me sort out the confusion I'd appreciate it as I am looking into a new LSD and I am considering just staying N/A....thanks!!

you will need the Differential from a M/T to work with the auto no way around it!
you do not need to change out the drive shaft..you just swap out the flange from the auto to the M/T

if you want to go the easiest route, you can try sourcing a Mt vert diff. it comes with 3.90 gears, all you would have to do is swap the pinion out for the AT one from your old diff and you're good to go. I have 3.90 gears in my 7at and I feel they are perfect, any shorter gearing and first and second gears would be worthless w/o awd.
