Haven't done this on a G, but the technology is sound, and it will free up horsepower (it doesn't actually make any horsepower). Keep in mind though - any ancilliary system you modify with a different size pulley will spin slower, thus affecting it's performance. Your A/C may not be as efficient and your alternator may not be able to keep your battery charged. So just keep this and your driving style in mind when you determine your pulley sizes.

If we keep the pulley same size as OEM, then it will solely benefit from lighter weight and freeing up some hp/torque perhaps?

Yes, but we're talking about such a small amount of energy as to be negligible in this engine. If it were a small engine with half the HP as the G, then it might be noticeable as a more responsive first gear that winds up faster.

There's another consideration, and that's engine harmonics, which you could be impacting by putting a LW set of pulleys on the front. IDK whether or not the crank pulley in our cars is also a harmonic damper... that's pretty deep into the tech weeds for me. And I believe that's a more relevant consideration when you convert your NA engine to a forced induction setup with a higher redline than stock, or if you use a lightweight flywheel in your manual transmission. Understand, I'm no mechanical engineer, and these are mostly hearsay opinions based on forum research over the years.

Full disclosure, I bought a lightweight crank pulley from Unorthodox Racing for my old Maxima, but the only perceived effect was that it revved quicker while in neutral. While engaged in gear... meh. No real return on investment, except bragging rights.

And in that context, never underestimate the value of bragging rights.

Thanks for info Rochester.
If I find 200 bucks on a street I will invest it into pulleys. For now I'll get some other goodies.

The risks outweigh the benefits in this particular case, IMO. Put the $ towards something else.

Our engine's balance is in the crank itself, it has nothing to do with the crank's pulley..

You should put the money towards something like 2-piece brakes, they free up more sprung weight and make a difference.

Pulleys are a waste of money and not worth the install headaches and risks IMO.
