Broken Part found during Intake Install

I finally got around to installing my intakes and I found this part broken.

My question is should I put the OEM parts back or continue with the intake install? Either way it is broken already.

Anyone know what part or number that is so I can look to order a new part for it?

The car is still under warranty so I'm thinking I should just put all the stuff back and take it to the dealership but I'm hoping that they don't think that I broke it. I'm sure they will....

Dang that sucks man, I mean I would try to get a new part if they cover it. It would always be nice to have your extra intake lying around incase the K&N goes out or something.

Just say you were doing an oil change and noticed it or something lol. But I have no idea what the part number would be.

Worst case if someone does know the part number, you could do the K&N now and pay for that part out of pocket if you cant wait on the K&N haha.

Which intake are you installing? Most aftermarket intakes get rid of that part altogether.

My R2C's did not have me reuse that part. If it's still under warranty, tape it up for the drive to the dealer and see if they'll replace it under warranty. If they say no... Then you're better off installing the K&N (assuming they don't require the part). You can always research the part later and buy it much cheaper online than what the dealers gonna charge anyway.

If you navigate through the parts diagrams on several of the Infiniti part websites you should be able to track it down. I'd try, but I'm sitting at the dealer myself at the moment and don't feel like getting frustrated while trying on my phone lol

I'd do what Mjaga said.

The part should be under warranty, it's free so go ahead and get it replaced. I doubt they'd try to deny your claim or anything.

In the event that they do deny the claim, just install the new intake.

I have R2c intake also and that part was not re-used.

From: Framingham Ma,
If you go to the dealer don't go with the intakes installed of course, I'm sure the parts not expensive but they blame the intake install, I reused mine on the Takedas. Don't even know if I was supposed to take it off LOL

I've put the stock intake back for now and scheduled an appointment for next week. Tue is the soonest they have available. So frustrating I was sooo looking forward to having these on, today.

I agree trying to get that part fixed for free first makes the most sense even if I don't need it. That way I can always put the stock back on if they want to give me grief over the K&N and warranty. This dealership told me that it wouldn't be an issue if I got them but I don't want them blaming me for braking it for sure.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

Now that I've gotten past the fact that I had another broken piece on the car that was supposed to have been CPO when I purchased it like 1.5 months ago. I'm more mad at myself that I didn't notice these things before hand.

So looking over the instructions again, it does truly look like I'd be removing both stock vent boxes <in red on my photos> from the driver and passenger side of the stock setup. Can anyone confirm this or have better photos?

It seems like with the K&N that I'll just go from there pipe's 90deg with their tubes straight to the car and remove these two vent boxes and extra pipe on each side. In that case, no point to get it fixed other then having the stock part when/if I needed to put back the stock intakes.

Just delete it. If your kit doesn't have replacements then get z1 side intake tubes.

So I've found out from the dealership that they won't fix it under warranty. Plus they want to charge me $245 bucks.

Looks to me that the driver side is Part Number: 16576EY00B Left. But this only confirms for me from the local dealership that this little box isn't sold separately so I'd be forced to purchase the entire intake hose and connections, including the little box I wanted to get fixed.

2012 Intake Parts

My kit for the K&N Typhoon did come with 3 hoses that do connect straight to the PCV value on the engine. 2 go together to form the 90deg connection for step 25 (per above photo) and then 1 long hose connects on the passenger side, step 38 (per above photo).

So looks like I'm just going to switch to the K&N and delete the oem intakes w/ the extra hoses and vent boxes.

A quick internet search shows you can buy that assembly from several Infiniti parts suppliers for $100 or so. If you really want it, do not have the dealer do it. I would just throw the K&N in and keep the taped up part in case something goes wrong with the K&N.
