Help Oil Spraying From BOV
Oil Spraying From BOV
So after the car being stored for winter the weather finally is warm enough to start my build decided to take the car out for nice drive checked all fluids looks good so i let eveything warm up drove the car slowly to let everything get lubricated in the drivetrain. So i i went to a performance shop to pick up some liqui molly 5w40 4100 oil since my last oil change i used mobil 1 and i noticed when i popped the hood there way quite a bit of oil on my hood rad hose ect now i am paniking thinking it is blow by so i get the mechanic to take a quick look he says its not blow by phew. He is saying that it is normal to have that espicially with STI's. He recommended to get an engine flush and drive it around and see if it continues? After doing some research i think the issue could be that 1. The mobil one oil after sitting all winter sludged up 2. Too much oil going to the turbos and not draining fast enough 3. Pcv is clogged? only the passenger side bov is blowing oil both air firlters seemd like they had oil leak out of them. Anyone else have this issue before?

2. All cars have blow by, you have to or the bottom end would explode.
3. Sounds like all your hoses are OEM still. Vent the PCV's to atmos after you run them to an oil catch can and get rid of any hoses going to the mani that aren't needed. You can vent the hoses going to the intakes too. This will eliminate any chance of oil getting into the intake system besides the turbo rings, all turbos are not 100% leak free just like a piston ring. Oil will leak out into the turbine and compressor.
How can an air filter leak oil? It's the first item in the system. Things go in, not out.
1. Mobil is like water, dump it. Lol it won't sludge up but then act like water and spray out of everything.

So i checked all the pcv lines and ect and they are all clean. I decided to take off the front bumper as of what i said earlier oil was comin out of my air filter, and it turns out i was right about the oil leaking out of my air filter. the turbo ball bearing seals on the drivers side is toast time to get them both serviced!
