No, basically just removing them and cleaning them, replacing the o-ring seal and then putting it back together.

 

Yeah, I don't feel confident about the key fob topic either, but they did replace it in any case.
Just to be clear, resetting and/or updating the ECU didn't resolve the problem in my case. They ended up having to order a new one. They had my car for almost a week, which wasn't a big deal since they gave me a Q50 loaner.
