Strange Clicking Sound when stopped

I have a very noticeable clicking sound coming from the rear of the 2011 G37 Sport Sedan.

For example: I am stopped at red light, car in drive, brake pedal pressed. Clicking starts.

I shift to neutral, clicking goes away, shift back to drive, clicking returns.

SideNote: two months ago, I was rear-ended, just got car back 30 days ago.

Any ideas?????

Robert

Could be many things. I would put the car in drive and put on the e brake. Pop the hood and try to isolate the source of the sound.

Seeing that he said the sound is coming from the rear of the car and not the front I don't see why he would need to pop the hood..

Because popping the hood is the international sign for "My car has a issue" so you don't look like a crazy meth addicting who is trying to find his lost stash somewhere inside the car.

rear brakes? it is making a noise because you it is trying to move forward, hence why it goes aways in neutral.

Try stepping hard on your brakes when at a stop in gear and see if it still happens.
