09 G37s Coupe 7a/t Advice

Selling my Mazdaspeed3 and thinking about purchasing a 2009 G37s Coupe with 51,000 miles. One owner, garage kept and very clean. Asking 18k for it. Wondering what advice you guys could give me as far as reliability and how well these cars last in the long run. Checked it out today and drove it briefly. Feels very solid. Thank you guys!

These cars are solid. That's not a bad deal. If you have a good feeling about it go for it. If you really want to make sure it's the right choice have it
Checked out by a mechanic.

How about the complaints about the 7 Speed auto? Mostly exaggerations, or is it a case by case basis?

There is a TSB that fixes everything. Plus the grounding kit improves it even better. With both, I've got no issues with the transmission now and that seems to be the prevailing opinion here.

Except for the necessity (preference?) for premium fuel and the relatively poor mileage for this sized car, the cost of ownership for my G has been the lowest of any automobile I’ve owned. I bought mine used with 18K on it several years ago. Its got over 95K on it now and except for the typical paint chips on the front nose, the car looks pretty good inside and out. Unless you do your own maintenance, cultivate a good relationship with a competent mechanic or your dealer otherwise the advertised prices for the work will get steep. Theres a lot of debate on here whether the recommended maintenance items are that worthwhile; and I doubt you will get any consensus one way or another with any hard evidence so you’ll have to draw your own conclusions on what’s appropriate.

That's a great price. Grab that sucker before your impulse buy deteriorates.

All good points. Thank you guys. I had a Mazdaspeed6 for several years. No stranger to poor gas mileage, premium only gas, and $100 oil changes every 3,000 miles. Definitely a step up for me though. Assuming any of the issues have already been resolved by now, but good to know that its no longer a huge issue.

Wow thats a great deal considering I just bought a 08 6MT with 54,000 miles for $23,000. Then again they killed on the price because its the only 6MT in 150 miles on here. Solid car overall

I got a 12 vert with 11,000 miles for 34,500. Pretty happy with that deal. Your price tag of $18K seems to be a steal.

I have an 08 5at and put about 30k miles on it last year alone. These are great cars and they are very easy to work on. Just make sure you get a service history. I would also have an indie shop run a compression test before purchase just to make sure it hasn't been beat up on.

Yes good call. It was a company car driven by a CEO. Better than a 19 year old kid I'd say. But you never know.

Wait a second. Didn't you say you had a Mazdaspeed3? I don't think this is a typo. For some reason, I think this is a mistake in memory of your original post. I don't believe you own a Mazda3/6 nor did you find a used 09 G37s in impeccable condition with that mileage for 18k. There was a few similar posts recently started by people with no post history claiming such deals. Can you provide a link of the advertisement to shut me up?... then I will apologize and tell you to jump on it. There is no way a 09 g37s is going for that, esp with a clean carfax.

The price seems really low, considering clean carfax 09 Journeys with that mileage goes for around 20k+.

OK update. Clean Carfax with many service records all at certified Infiniti dealers but it appears its had multiple owners. Last owner had it for 2.5 years with all service records. No reported accidents or major repairs. Explains the price but is it a deal breaker?

Hey, I think you are full of it. Here is why:

From your first post(screenshot in case you delete this post like your previous one):

One owner? Now it has multiple? I thought it was owned by a CEO of a company and is selling because he got a replacement?

This is a post you just deleted before making the current one (screenshots attached):

Ive had a speed3 and a speed6, both purchased with about 25k on them, so 50k is steep just based on my purchase history. The reason its a steal is because the guy selling it is simply and employee of a company. The car was owned by the company and the CEO has already purchased a new vehicle leaving it up to their employee to sell it, therefor he has no real interest in the sale. My company did the same thing when our owner would get company vehicles then move on. We basically just sold it as fast as possible to get them off the books. Of course there is the possibility that the car is complete wreck, but after checking it out and driving it, it feels very solid and looks practically new. So thats really all I have to go on. Plus I got a pretty sweet scooter, so if all else fails I'll just ride that thing until my lemon is paid off.
Why would you make this up? LOL...Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men... I still don't think you owned both Mazda3 & 6 to be honest. Perhaps someone you know bought a G37 and you want to justify it for some weird reason by saying it is worth way less than it is.
