Unless you immerse the Stillen gen3's in water, you're fine. I have taken my car in heavy rain, taken it to car washes, no problemo. Just install the deflector shield for piece of mind. The Injen intakes might be an issue if you drive through standing water often.

You can put some K&n wraps on the filters.
If you're going with Stillen G3, PM me for the correct wraps for its filters.

That's if you're too much worried about water getting sucked in, otherwise u won't be needing them.

I have the stillen gen 3 and I've driven with them in snow and rain and both together; and I didn't put on the shield and I'm good so far at first I was paranoid about driving in the rain but now I don't even think about it. I've put like 5k miles on them now.

I have the Injen cai and I go into limp mode if you spit in front of my bumper...no but seriously thou buy a hydro shield if you do buy an Injen cai. Prior if I washed my car without the hydro shield I would go into limp mode as I tried to move my car 9 feet back into my garage...our car is to damn smart and goes into limp mode so it doesnt suck up water, which is a good thing i guess lol

From: Framingham Ma,
I had both Tekeda longtubes and Stillen Gen 3's I had no issues in the rain or snow, Washing the car ( by hand) or anything. Both systems give you an option for a shield it you want to get one just for your piece of mind.

I have had Stillen Gen 3's on both my 2008 & 2013 G37s with no issues ever, even out here in south florida we get hit by rain very often and I never had a problem. The Stillen Gen 3 shields help with this

Thanks for the support guys! The STILLEN Gen 3's have not had any issues in the rain. As stated by many members on the forum, the filter shield adds peace of mind but no one has ever reported any issues with water getting into the intake without submerging them in water.

I've recently driven thru some April rain showers without the rain shield or injen wraps. And I've had no issues at all. The only way I can see you hydro locking your car is if you submerge your intakes. Stillen gen 3's are designed awesome. You don't have anything to worry about. Love my gen 3s!!

I had the injen CAI....

great intake, but terrible in bad weather!

I had several issues with them! I had my car detailed once and the guy used a pressure washer on the front of the car. Well, my car would not start and the intakes were soaking wet on the inside.

Then we had a REAL REAL bad rain storm and I was on the hwy and the same thing happened. my engine stuttered and then cut out.

So in other words unless you put some kind of cover in front of the CAI I would highly suggest not getting them if you live in a rainy city.
