7AT shift knob
7AT shift ****
Since I purchased my g37xS a few weeks ago I have been getting more and more annoyed with the factory shift **** because the prior owners (lease to boot) scratched the heck out of the "aluminum" looking plastic center part. I have found factory oem replacements for around $150-$165, but was wondering if there might be some cheaper alternatives. My car has the black (graphite) interior so I would like something that matched if there was something aftermarket out there. Thanks.

Is this easy plug and play? Where'd you get this? Any other options out there? The OEM is boring.
I got the idea (and stole the picture) from this thread -

Here's the route I went. Shifter **** from the M35 and I redid the shift boot stitching. I like the perforated leather a bit more than the other. Pretty simple install, you don't HAVE to cut to fit but it will pop off it you pull too hard. A couple minutes and a dremel and you'll be good to go.

What year is that wood trim?
This is the M45 shift ****, I too ordered and installed one of these several years back and it is a worthwhile and easy upgrade. It has held up very nice and looks higher-end than the stock G ****. As others have mentioned, it's an easy upgrade to do and requires a dremel to make a couple of new notches in the metal shift mechanism for the lock to attach to. I've never had any problems with the **** coming loose.
