I agree gens 3 def. give you a little more, and I will probably buy them.

I just find it interesting that I got similar power to you and g37 blue without a full exhaust or cold air intake.

Which makes me think that the statement from uprev about intakes is probably true.

Although It also could just be how the individual tuned it. The guy I had travels the country tuning nissans and does alot of the enjuku cars, so he might have proven maps already for the mods I had.

My base was 280, end result 302.

I've been doing a lot of research on the Uprev tune platform and can say it has impressed me with all the customizing that can be done w/ the 5 maps. Here is what my map layout will be in 2 WEEKS!

1) Optimized map for all the mods but keeps the limitors in place. After 70% throttle switches automatically to performance map
2) Performance map w/o limits. ***** out getting gone fast!
3) Valet map no revs over 2700 or 15 mph
4) security = No engine start
5) OEM or stock map just in case I need to take the car in to the dealer for work.

I just love the idea of being able to switch it up or secure my car. The tune will also "fix" the idle issue that developed after all the little mods that changed the AF ratio causing the engine to idle funny while at a stand still.

OP: Good numbers, my man, and a great review!

So all the maps...is there an outside computer source? How do you access the different maps? I am interested in getting a tune done eventually but I want to understand how it actually works.

Warped...you said you have a setup that is optimized but swithces at 70% throttle to performance...does it switch back once you let off?

You access the maps by holding the cancel button and flicking the cruise control lever.

Edit** sorry, had it backwards. You hold the lever and push the cancel button. That should tell you how often I change maps, lol.

I don't have it YET. I'm getting the tune on the March 15th. But to answer your question, yes... While in the map that is optimized for the cars current mods after the throttle is done being stomped on the map will automatically switch back from performance to the "safer" map.
I've done a bit of thinking on how I want this tune setup.

The map will not change or revert back once the performance map has been selected though. I asked the tuner about this on one of my 25 minute phone calls to him.

I sincerely wish that there was a way to change maps (like a button under or to the side of the wheel) instead of using the cruise control buttons.

Just as an FYI...my tuner excluded map #2. I have all the other maps though, except my valet map is set to nothing above 10 mph. Each tuner does it a little differently.

Why exclude the best map? Curious, here.

Not sure...I didn't realize my tuner excluded that map until I read your post.

I guess he knew that I wanted to make sure my car wouldn't break. Haha.

The way the process was explained to me is that YOU tell the tuner what maps YOU want then they make the programs to fit your needs. You can make the maps anyway you choose within reason. Its odd that he would exclude a performance map for your vehicle. I don't know many that pay good $$$ for a tune just to leave it sorta ham-strung. Maybe you could give the tuner a phone call or a visit and have him explain the reasoning to you. I for one, am a bit curious.

Fightin and Warped...thanks. Just for the hell of it I am gonna do that to see IF the person that owned the car before me ever had a tune done. Although...well...maybe not. Just in case it was and I screw something up. But I found there is an UpRev tuner up the street from me so I can eventually get that done in town!

That was completely stock, it had nothing done to it. Here's my time slip post from the 1/4mile thread. I'm obviously the one on the left wish I was the one on the right though
