Hypertech with IPL G37

I just got a Hypertech programmer for my 2011 IPL and I am getting the following error.

Vehicle has an unsupported calibration

Is this something that I can fix or should I just go with the Uprev or Ecutek tune for the improved throttle response and shifting? I have already order my R2C intake and don't planning on making any other changes.

Thanks

Did you plug it into your computer to update it via their update app? I'd imagine a 2011 would be supported by now, even an IPL. If not, call them Monday morning. They've always been happy to help.

Yes I did do the online update and even entered my email to be notified when it's updated. I guess I will give them a call on Monday before I ditch it and go to the Uprev.

You'll get better results with UpRev since you'll have a custom tune vs a canned tune. If you don't have access to an UpRev tuner/dyno, then the HT wouldn't be too bad. If they don't have an IPL update, the HT will be easy enough to sell.

I want to say thanks again! Hypertech took down my info and said an update will be available in the next 3 days to a week. That is great service! I will use that for a while until I can get myself to spend the 800$ and time to get my car uprev dyno tuned.

Just wanted to let everyone know they updated it for my calibration. The car definitely feels more responsive and powerful But that could easily be a false perception. Once I get the intake in this weekend I will do a couple of dyno runs comparing stock to tuned.

desairs - if you're doing dyno runs, please do a stock comparison even with your intakes. Remember Hypertech has a couple of options for their powertune maps - the base one, and a couple of intake options. What intake did you pick up?

I'd be curious to see if their intake specific tune has gains over the regular power tune...

Will do. I thought I could do a few runs...

1) Intake - Stock Tune
2) Intake - Throttle Restriction Off, Performance Tune
3) Intake - Throttle Restriction Off, Performance Tune, Intake Tune 1
4) Intake - Throttle Restriction Off, Performance Tune, Intake Tune 2
5) Intake - Throttle Restriction Off, Intake Tune 2

I got the R2C Shortram.

Now I just need to find a dyno in town!

I'm not sure that you can select the combo in option 5 - you always need the performance tune, before selecting the intake specific map. 1-4 are spot on.

Glad to hear they took care of you. That is indeed good service! Looking forward to dyno numbers. I never managed to find the time to do any runs with the HT.

Guys who have had this, what were your impressions?

Has anyone gotten a dyno to see how the a/f ratios ended up?
