Hey guys. I have been really modding my car over the last 4-5 weeks since I purchased and am ready for a tune. I have been scouring the forum for some answers but I wanted to ask a few specific questions about the UpRev tune.

I am in Nashville and dont really have any Tuners around me that will do a dyno tune and the one guy I did talk to about it said it would be around 1500.00... that sounded way off from what I have read on here that you guys have paid for yours. So is it worth it to drive the 6 hours to Atlanta for a Dyno tune on a weekend or can I get away with a E-Tune? I have 3 kids and its hard for me to get away. I am about to put on my Motordyne 370 and Berks HFC and know it will need the tune after that.

Any imput on what you guys paid for the dyno tune or if you think I can get away with the Standard Tune and do that on my own and will I get the power from those bolt-ons in addition to my CAI and Exhaust.

IMO, I would wait until the Berk HFC and 370 installed, then doing a tune afterward. $ 1500 is way too ripped off. It depends on who you know and how reputable the shops are. Prices may vary 500-800. For now I will just reset the ECU, that way your car will learn to breath with new catback and CAI.

 

Thank you for that... I will work on the ECU reset tonight if that is going to make a difference. I was not going to get the tune till the Berks and 370 were installed. They are both going to be installed in the next 2 weeks then I was going to get the Tune.

I am thinking of going with the E-Tune but I was hoping for some success or negitive things about this.

 

If you dont have a good tuner in your area I would suggest a e-tune.

For the best results you should find a local dyno and have your etuner tune while your strapped.

Find a good UPREV Tuner. At STILLEN we charge $250 for 2 hours worth of dyno tuning (usually more than enough). The UPREV License is about $300 and add $200 if you want your own cable to pull the tune off yourself. Dyno tuning will always get you the best results

I am thinking I am going to make the drive from Nashville to Atlanto to Z1 Motorsports. Has anyone else gone there to have it done?

 

We deal with Z1 and have a lot of customer who go there. They do good work and are great for Dyno Tuning.

 

EcuTek has posted some great numbers but is very limited with certified tuners.. at least in my area of Chicago there is none lol

 

That's why ecu tek e tune by Visconti, he's not only a tuner but he has title of master tuner.
They don't just give those out.
E tune & strap to dyno, vs a 6 hr drive including time/expense.
Uprev will do, but ecu tek is the deal.

 

still waiting for even a shard of proof that ecutek is superior to uprev.. including all the promised "any day now.." features

 

I wish I could do more about looking into ECU Tek but if there is only one shop to get it tuned its not even an option for me or probably most people.

 

Having control of ignition timing alone makes the product superior.

Would you install a light switch that only worked sometimes?

 

Uprev allows ignition timing to be modified. They released their timing table a few months ago. My tuner used it to tune my car.

 

Does not offer the type of control you think it does.

It allows you to change one or two different timing strategies, these cars have several including dynamic timing advances.

I've seen too many guys dyno less than stock with a uprev tune.
