It allows you to change one or two different timing strategies, these cars have several including dynamic timing advances.

I've seen too many guys dyno less than stock with a uprev tune.

I gotcha, well luckily, that didn't happen to me!

How effective is an ecu reset? If I just got exhaust and intakes would that suffice? I live in Cali and this state is a royal pain in the a$$ but I do want the grunt of a good exhaust and intake setup. If I can (in theory) hit like 300 WHP with just that I will be happy and living in norcal I think I would have a hike to get a tuner as well.

There are UpRev tuners in San Jose and San Pablo. Not sure where in NorCal you are but those are a few I know of. I don't know if you'll make 300 whp with just intake and exhaust (which ones are you looking at?), but it is possible. Pulleys are CARB Legal and could help get you closer.

Import Tuner saw some nice gains on a 370Z...

Thank you everyone for you input thus far. I have made an appointment at motion lab in charlotte to get the UpRev Tune. I did research ECU Tek more but I am not finding the data for the G's and there is only the one tuner that we know of. Makes it hard to sell the ECU Tek tunes on a forum that is all of the US and world when there isnt any tuners?! It sounds like its a great option and but how can you consider it when you would have to drive a few thousand miles to get it... my two pennies.

I live in Santa Rosa...so nothing is real close. I was thinking about getting a Tanabe catback exhaust and intakes. Not sure of the brand on the intakes yet simply because I am not ready yet so the research on that front is not complete yet. But it will be whoever gives the most HP from a short ram

If Visconti can squeeze 30+hp / 50 tq from just a 1.6 with a small turbo making very little boost.

Imagine him cracking into the 37, he has impressed me.
He has one of the best reputations for not only tuning, but ACTUALLY CARING ABOUT THE END RESULTS.

He's is not just a shop owner who is a stand up guy, but he has a real love for tuning.
It's in his blood, he's the one in a million that I can say.
His reputation proceeds itself, I was at a big meet in ct.
Visconti rep is bar none.

STFU I know a dozen guys who've made a gazillion HP with 1.6 liter honda's, apparently that means that they're voodoo wizards at tuning the VQ as well???

And also we're not debating Visconti's qualifications as a tuner, we're debating ecutek VS uprev as a tuning medium for the VQ platform... as of now ecutek is completely unproven against the standard, which is, and HAS BEEN, uprev.

SHOW US SOME DYNO's of cars making making more power after being retuned with ecutek.... PLEASE. ANYONE. ITS BEEN MONTHS!!!!!
