Any bored over G's?
Hey I was looking into getting some forger pistons and rods...but haven't seen any threads on here of anyone who's gone for the larger pistons. Anyone bored over there G? What sort of gains did you see?

i just sent out my block yesterday to get bored 20 over and sleeved.... its not a bad idea when youre running high boost (supercharged or turboed) get some low compression forged pistons and rods and put a turbo kit on it and call it a day...if youre in the dallas area JoTech does all my engine work
As the phrase goes, there's not replacement for displacement. The G isn't really known to run a blazing 1/4 mile and really aren't treated as go fast cars. Like Can'tGme said, I'm sure there's a 370Z with a stroked VQ.
I guess so.
The G just isn't a 1/4 mile kind of car. It's all about power/weight and there's too much pork in the G to really shine on the street.
I haven't done a stoplight race in years, guess that's why I'm happy with the G the way it is...

I agree. IMO if you want a much faster car, then start with a FI platform. That way it is much easier to mod and the resale will be better -- heavily modifying a NA engine cost big bucks and the reliability is commonly lower (the more you change, the higher the risk of there being issues). Then down the road when you want to sell it, you typically loose alot of the money you have invested in the car because people are concerned about the quality of work performed. Just my 2 cents
That's really for push-rod V8s that can't handle more than 5,000 rpm or so (if that).
Modern engines can wind to higher red-lines for wider power bands and better performance.
The push-rod dinosaurs can't manage that so they need the cubes to provide more low-end grunt.
