I was at the dealership this past week for noise in the transmission. It developed a whine, mainly when the car was cold and occurred with the clutch pedal out. Service advisor said that clutch chatter was normal on these cars, but I told him it wasn't the chatter that I was bringing it in for. They ended up replacing the throw out bearing under the power train warranty and the whine is gone now. The car does have a bit of clutch chatter, but it's nothing that I've been concerned with. They drove it after the repair and said it sounds normal now. My Last car was a Honda s2000, which was notorious for transmission chatter, so I'm used to it.

Interesting. In 2010, after 18 months and 14k miles, my '08 6MT developed a high-pitched whine in 1st and 2nd gear. The dealer's service department diagnosed it as the throw-out bearing (as with Gopennst8) and replaced the transmission (in less than 24 hours). No noises since.

Meeting with the tech was useless! the guy was so rude basically yelled at me right out the gate, said I was the worst customer he ever dealt with, because of my "age im just going to drift and abuse the car anyway" and that I'm just trying to scam Infiniti and try to get them to make my "used" car brand new.

My car had 30,000 miles on when i got it, that is still basically brand new

From what i understand they changed 3 things in this area from the 35 to the 37: flywheel, throwout bearing and clutch slave.

I think what im going to do is replace the clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing and clutch slave all at the same time myself.

The douchebag tech said that if I pay to fix the problem myself they will reimburse me (although im not holding him too it, i will probably still have to go through the BBB)

I am so disappointed in the customer service I received from corporate and the dealerships in my area. I guarantee if I was 50 years old instead of 24 I wouldn't have been talked to the way these people have. As a future customer they most definitely will not have my business again.

It's a different noise, not the same one as on the G35 coupe.

only issue my G35 had was the throwout bearing but that went away when you put the clutch down.
