Bought Used G37....Missing parts :(

Hey everyone, just signed up...seems like a great community and an abundance of information here from I've read so far...

So i just bought an 08 g37s coupe/journey with about 38,000 miles...I believe i got a good price for it and it had a clean carfax however after I had couple friends look at it and seeing the pics on this forum, we noticed that he had few parts missing in the front...it seems like it was in an accident. Seems like the engine wasn't affected but the bumper does seem a little loose (might be because the cover is not attached).

Anyway, the main thing we noticed that was missing was the radiator cover...is this important? Not sure how long its been ridden like this...should I be worried?

PS. does any1 know where I can buy 1 and all the necessary bolts, etc.?

Welcome to the forum. Please post pictures of what's missing. Yes , the radiator shroud is important for cooling. You can buy it from a dealership or buy one at a salvage yard.

Should I do this myself?

It's an easy install, just have to get all the wiring clips snapped in prior to the final fit of the cover. You need to get it all together and then get it flat where it needs to be and give it a firm push back toward the engine to clear those two hidden plastic pins, push it down over those pins and you're good to go. Here's a source for the shield, it's part # 6 in the diagram and a bit over $50. Welcome to the site BTW, and congrats on your new G!

Check the wiring wrap behind the grill, they probably still have the clips on it along w/ the hood opener cable.
