Stutter/ Hesitation around 25-30 MPH
Hi Everyone,
I drive a 2011 G37 Sedan with about 36,000 on it, I bought it used. I have an issue that i'm hoping someone in here has experience with, because its very frustrating. Every morning when I first start driving or after the car has not been driven for awhile (such as in the afternoon after work) I get a stutter or a hesitation between 25-30MPH, which usually only occurs for the first few miles. After i've driven a few miles or for about 5 minutes its goen and everything is back to normal. This occurs no matter if I floor the pedal or ease into it. I have taken it to 3 different dealers and none of them have said they have ever heard of anything like this occuring. I had my friend drive it who also has a G37 sedan and he feels it as well, but his does not do it. I also had a loaner from the dealer which did not do it. I have read some stuff on the internet that says a ECU reset via the battery disconnect may fix the problem, but I have not tried that yet. Hopefully somebody has had a similiar situation int he past and been able to fix it? Thanks everyone.

I had this ECM update done on my 2012, I complained about the acceleration lag after turning and accelerating from about 25mph. The update was awesome the first 2 weeks, after that it's still better, but not as responsive as when they first did it. Below is a shot of the work order:

I actually had a reflash update done as well about 2 weeks after I got the car, but my issue only occurs in like the mornings when I first start driving or after work when it hasn't been running all day. Does your feel like a hesitation, with a slight jerk sometimes? Also, I was thinking about doing a ECU reset via the battery disconnect. What do you think?

I'll occasionally get a slight hesitation/jerk when the engine isn't fully warmed up, but my neighborhood is a bunch of fairly steep hills and I've had other cars act the same way. I think an ECU reset would be a good place to start, can't hurt anything and might help you narrow down the list of possible problems.

Yeah I get it pretty much every morning and after work, and I have no hills near me. Have you done the ECU reset before via the battery? I just hope its not some type of transmission problem, because my friends 2011 does not do it.

I haven't reset it yet, debating doing it this weekend when I have some time to fool around with the car as I think periodically resetting it will help with the hesitation issues. When I first picked the car up after the update it was awesome, hoping it will go back to that.
