First and foremost, I want to thank Jsolo for providing a resolution for the clutch pedal spring issue, in which it has made driving the G much more enjoyable.

With that, I purchased and installed his spring (honestly, removal and installation was kind of a pain in the ***). Tested it out, then I pulled the entire assembly and tested that out as well. Granted, driving the car with his spring mod installed is a huge improvement over stock, while driving without the entire assembly definitely gives you a better clutch engagement feel, but its too sensitive and loose when the clutch is disengaged.

Considering so, I was attempting to find a softer spring to get a nice balance between Jsolo's spring and not having one at all. Then it hit me. I realized by utilizing ONLY the smaller spring within the assembly and negating the bigger spring all together, I got the resolution I was looking for.

So I installed the entire assembly utilizing only the small spring (see posted pic) and to me, it feels amazing, and its a perfect balance between the two. Its not too tight, nor is it too loose like not having the assembly at all. I honestly couldnt be any happier with it.

Now obviously everyones preference is different, along with driving habits, but after testing out the stock, Jsolo's spring and not having the assembly installed at all, this works the best for me.

Interesting. Bear in mind compression springs usually have a maximum deflection spec. That spec is not it's equal to its solid height. After some length of time it will fatigue to this solid height length and no longer function as a spring.

As an example the weaker spring you got from me is rated at 1.300" maximum deflection - amount of deflection from free length spec. In practice, it is not recommended to exceed 80% of the maximum deflection length.

I experimented with several other spring rates for the main spring, 25 lb/in, and 38 lb/in. While these provided about the same feel as the 52 lb/in that you got, the side effect was they didn't have the force to fully take up the slack when the foot was off the pedal. There was additional pedal noise during clutch release (lifting of foot). After a few days of each of these, I returned back to the 52 lb/in spring. This seems to be a good compromise between clutch feel/feedback, being able to fully extend the pedal, and no noise.

@Jsolo, ah ok, that makes perfect sense! But I'm going to drive around with it as it is and see how it holds up. If anything, I'll re install your spring and take it from there. Thanks for your help though, your the freaking man! Lol

I find the lighter spring better, but still nowhere near as good feeling as my old 2003 G35 6MT.

I may just try this tiny spring mod.

Absolutely. Great little mod for the 6MT.

I had jsolo's spring for 3 years before replacing the entire clutch pedal assembly for the RJM unit.
