Regarding uprev and the dealership

I recently had my car uprev tuned with my stillen gen 3s on. Now I have to get some warranty work done so i have to put back on my stock intake.

So i have a few questions:
1. If i use the map 2 which is the stock map, does it default to map 1 whenever i turn off the car and start it?

2. Can i still use the tuned map 1 with the stock intake? Would there be any consequences ?

3. Can the dealer tell if my car has been uprev tuned or not when they plug in the consult 3 to do diagnostics?

1. No, it will stay in the same map until you change it again
2. Will be fine, dont push it hard. Doubtful that the tune changed significantly with just an intake.
3. They can if they wanted to. Most of the time, they wont pay attention.

What kind of warranty work?

Just hope it doesn't require reprogramming your ECU...

even if it does, most tuner shops will reload the tune that they have saved for free because it doesn't require dyno runs again.

least mine said they would

You sure if tue dealer flashes the car don't you lose tue UPREV license
If not i'm happy cause I had to go back to stock - But am getting retuned on Wednesday
Would love to not have to pay for the license again

Yep. Once you pay for the license, it mates with the ecu number. Your tuner should have a file with it. If the dealer reflashes the ecu, your tune can be loaded WITHOUT a redyno.

This is what my tuner said when I asked him the same exact question.

I don't understand why you have to put your stock intakes back on for warranty work?
I have the afe intakes and had warranty work done. A dealership can not deny you warranty work because you have on aftermarket parts and your uprev tune should have a map of your stock set up.

It really depends on some dealerships. Generally my dealership is cool but this time i've been having a idle/surge issue and they are saying it is because of my intake making me run lean at times. I know it is not the intake because this problem just happened recently and i've had my intake for the longest time.

So I m really putting back on the stock intake to show them that my idle/surge issue is not caused by my intake.

You need to revert to a stock tune, you will lose your license if the dealer flashes the ECU.

Correct!

BUT!! In the OPs case, he/she has an idle surge.
If the surge is found to be the aftermarket intake or the UpRev tune then he shall need to pay for the diagnostics, and subsequent repair.

OP, as I stated, do not leave the UpRev tune on the car.
Go to your tuner, have them revert to the stock ROM.
Then return to the tuner to return to tune ROM.

IF the dealer upgrades your ROM, then your tuner can dump your new ROM, send it to UpRev to crack it, when the ROM is returned, the tuner can them copy the MAPs from your old ROM, and paste them to the new ROM, and ref lash your ECU.
