I agree with you on the front part of the driveshafts are probably not the same. The hope is that the rear part of the driveshafts mate up the same way and have the supports at the same location.

If you are going to use a driveshaft from a G35 then you are also hoping that the mounting location for the supports are in the same location as a G37 is as well.

I just read through your thread (Black Betty is a hero!) and oh man I didn't forsee you having these types of issues

Sounds like this was a great mod for you, but with your HP level you have some unique challenges. For my gear swap it was literally swap the auto flange to the manual diff with the gears, and rebolt the driveshaft and it works fine, but then again you have twice the horsepower.

I hope you get it figured out!

That' 4.08 diff is a bargain! I would have been all over that.

OK, so I just confirmed J&V salvage in Brooklyn, NY has a 2006 G35 auto two-piece diff with four bolt rear flange for--ready? Fifty bucks.

I'm going to drive there on Sat with my minivan to pick it up. I won't have time to take out the existing, but at this price it's almost a gimme.

This could be good for me, and informative for all.

This is what I have been waiting for. If you get it Saturday, how long before you get to see if it fits?

Are you going to try and use the whole driveshaft or are you going to try and just use the rear half?

Don't know. Need to see the condition and fitments.

At best it will bolt up. At worst nothing fits. LOL!

I'll schedule it for early next week with The Shop. Jimmy still has a set of tires to reinstall, so I'm going back in anyway.

If you were to take the measurements I posted and a tape measure with you, you could simply measure it before buying and know for 100% certainty if it'll fit or not. The whole thing or just the front section or whatever. Just a thought.

^^^ I'll do this. However, the front section for your manual *may* be different from an automatic. This is why getting the diff from an auto G35 is key. None of us are sure the front section is the same. Or is even the nose the same spline?

We may know within a week! Thanks for this diagram. I've printed it with your specs to see.

Wouldn't or couldn't the back half of a manual driveshaft from a G37 Coupe work as well?

My poor friend with a CF Driveshaft on his Z was not so fortunate though
