Shift boot loose and now creaks?
Shift boot loose and now creaks?
I was driving tonight and noticed that when I shift to second, the shift ****/boot is rubbing against itself or something on the side and is making a creaking sound when in gear. I took a closer look and my leather boot looks twisted and I can now twist it easily at the neck where the boot meets the shift ****.
I don't recall this being able to twist before and I don't recall my doing anything that would cause this or the boot to get twisted. I tried turning the neck of the boot back and forth and it doesn't seem to be sitting right no matter where I position it. I'm going to lift the console up tomorrow to see if anything looks amiss but has anyone experienced this before?
