Hello everyone I have a 2008 G37S 6MT with 60k miles on it.

The car will not go into second gear when the car is moving under 15mph. Either going from 3rd gear or from neutral it would not go seems like it is locked out. If I was going 1-3 mph it would let me in but i have to force it. Upshifts are fine meaning going from 1 to 2 to 3 is flawless. Everything else works perfectly except getting into 2nd gear while rolling.

I recently installed a TWM short shifter 2000 miles ago but it worked fine. I am pretty sure I installed it correctly because I must have checked it 4-5 times.

I also recently did a transmission oil change 500 miles ago with Motul Gear 300 75W90. The problem did not arise until I changed the transmission fluid so do you guys think it could be that?

do you blip the throttle when you downshift? Ive been running a TWM for a while and AMS oil in the MT try changing the oil. If that doesn't work you could have blown your syncro. try this
-drive normally through gears 1-2-3-4
-down shift to 3rd
- now this downshift try double clutch, push the clutch and put the car in neutral and disengage the clutch while the car is cruising in neutral
-now engage the clutch and shift into second
If this works then you probably blew your syncro, how many quarts did you fill with? is the fluid a gl4 grade fluid. we need some more info

 

The transmission fluid is GL4 and GL5 it is Motul Gear 300. I filled up about 3 quarts into the transmission.

I do rev match when I downshift. Also, my friend did advise me to double clutch and it went into 2nd gear smoothly.

You may be right that I blew my synchros.
