Weird Breaking issue (Video)

Might be just normal for the car, ECU, transmission or whatever, and only happens in DS mode, but when breaking kind of hard the car drops down gears so that the RPM jumps really high.
Hopefully you can tell from the video what I mean.

My 7AT downshifts like that when I brake hard in DS mode. It seems like it does help slow down the car.

Thanks, figured it might just be the way it is, but never hurts to ask!

...the car is emulating a manual transmission...it is downshifting to the the next lowest gear at a higher RPM but a lower gear. It is normal for this car. In DS mode its more exaggerated because it is sports mode and changes gears at a higher RPM.

I figured it was something like that, and like you said it was just very exaggerated, so left me a bit concerned.

Thanks for the feed back!

Normal - it's called downshift rev-matching, happens during harder braking in DS mode.

Totally normal. Thats why its called drive "sport" mode...dropping gears like that allows you to always be in a high rpm band where these cars make power so you can easily get back up to speed....say if you were coming around a turn, braking, then going back into a straight away.
