Temperamental Acceleration/RPM
2011 G37SX just under 20000 miles. Have noticed recently whenever I do pretty much any acceleration over 45 miles per hour I get sudden spikes in the RPM up to 4.5-6k RPM that plateau as the decrease (I.E. down to 3k, pause, 2k).
It didn't do this to begin with and I noticed has gotten worse since an incident where I was accelerating on to the high from an on ramp stop sign and it went up to 7-8k and also felt like it stalled (the car abruptly slowed but not quite halted) and then accelerated.
What could be wrong? Should I just take it to the dealer?

Finally got a response two weeks later, guess they are moving some departments around in their customer service center. Course they apologized wholeheartedly (after I sent a letter asking if I should "call them directly, the dealer, or the BBB").
Said they should get it figured out in 3-10 days.
Also mentioned to them I'm had the hesitant shifting after breaking or slowing that everyone else has seen but I am out of their current TSB's VIN range >fingers crossed<.

Well just got a call from Infiniti service that wasn't the most fun. Apparently they talked to the dealer and said my car has all the most up to date software for the transmission and currently there is nothing they can do.
They acknowledge there is an issue, that the car used to drive fine and now this issue is an aberration, but they have no TSM or recalls involved so I am stuck with a transmission that is slipping. Not exactly happy with this outcome, don't really know what my next options are. It is not that it isn't driveable but I worry if I have to accelerate suddenly and it stalls out from the sudden increase in RPM there could be bad consequences.

I would write an email to the head office consumer service and complain about your troubles that the car is unsafe to drive and that you expect them to do something about it. You can contact them at Infiniti USA - Contact Us
You can also email the BBB and state your complaint. They usually get a response from the dealer. BBB Consumer and Business Reviews, Reports, Ratings, Complaints and Accredited Business Listings - U.S. BBB click under "file a complaint"
Hope this helps. Keep us posted
