For all the 09 owners that didn't know...

There is a new transmission update out for our cars. Just figured I would throw that out there incase some people don't follow the thread in the sedan section.

I plan on getting my done next weekend. Any coupe owners get their 09 trans update recently? Impressions?

Is this TSB same as the 10-11's with the tranny lag?

Yes, it is 027. The 09's just got approval for the same update the 10-11's have had for a month or so now. It fixes the harsh downshift from 2-1 and the lag. Overall impressions on the sedan is "GO GET IT NOW" so i'm getting asap

My dealer also said there is possibly a prob with the '09 torque converters. Said mine will be swapped out under warranty if necessary.
I'm not as concerned about the rough shifts as I am the stuttering at constant speed around 40 mph and at 60 mph. Like riding a mild rumble strip!

Thanks. I'll have to ask them about the TC. Is it a TSB as well?

And thanks to the OP for the heads up.

Only 12 miles since update #ITB12-027A.
Shifts are smooth and don't feel the stuttering anymore.
So far so good!

I expressed my issues to the service manager, made an appointment for 8:30 this morning, dropped it off, got loaner and got a call it was done at about 11:30.

I'm pretty sure I felt the 60 mph stutter but not absolutely sure.
Other than that. The car coasts a lot better and feels more relaxed in "D".
Stop and go traffic felt more natural with a a little gas and then coast back down to stop.
1-2-3-4 gear shifts are smooth like butter with small pedal input, but power is still there when
I push it down further.
26 miles and still happy. LOL

does this new TSB correct the "flare" in the transmission? where sometimes the rpm will jump up around 250-500 rpm between shifts (feels like a slipping tranny or locking and unlocking of the torque converter to early). mostly does this when you drive the car a bit then park for a little then drive again. It doesn't happen all the time, but it sure is annoying when it does!

Honestly. I don't know if this is an "update" . Meaning it includes past fixes for issues that have been rectified.
I took mine in for the stutter and rough shifting in lower gears. And shifting is great...I'll have to wait on a decision about the stutter.
But I have had no flares yet. But had some after a reset the other day.
