No mods, just wondering if droppin the clutch and doing burn outs is going to damage any components besides tires and wallet?

 

Is this a one off burn out or frequent burn outs? I've haven't burned out in my car or put it through the paces but am interested to hear the responses.

 

I broke an axle at the drag strip launching. Fairly embarrass limping about 300 feet down the track at 3 mph. I'm not FI, just a stock engine - 6MT.

 

Wow. That was one hell off a hook up. Where you on standard tires or stickies? Did the CV let go or the splines?

 

No LSD on the Vert so you will only need to replace the passenger side tire and eventually the clutch...

 

He was on street tires but he weighs 500 pounds so you can imagine the hook up

 

I also broke an axle in my Z but I had 4.083 gears and BFG G-Force 285's on the rear. But all in all I think our rear diff's are very strong for stock.

 

I can only imagine what you'll break with the Super Sports.

 

You really shouldn't just drop the clutch. A good burnout splits the stress between the clutch and the CV shafts, so you should get some clutch burn and some tire spin.

That being said, I have dropped the clutch a few times, and it's holding up fine.

 

Are you serious? We dont have limited slip? Only power to the left side? Say its not so..

 

Your right. I guess Im not really droppin the clutch. Not really doing alot of burn out either, just want to know if I if it could handle it.
